Guest DT at Oozak.

Hello all!
Happy 1st October :) A gorgeous day is forecast here today which is great but where on earth did the last 9 months go????  Anyway my post today is for the Oozak challenge blog where I was very pleased to have been asked to do the guest DT spot this week.  I love ordering from OOZAK as they have such a fabulous variety of products and you always get super quick delivery!

I used my new Prima Mixed Media Doll stamp and after stamping her onto white cardstock, I used masking fluid to mask her (stating the obvious!) and then stamped the background flowers with white embossing powder, blending some Distress Inks over them once heated and set.  I added a few more stamps to the background using the same Distress Inks and then rubbed off the masking fluid to reveal the "naked" or uncoloured doll image.  I coloured her skin and hair with Copics and paper pieced her dress and hairband and added a few adhesive gems to the background flowers.

I would like to enter this into the challenges at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday , Chocolate, Coffee & Cards , Wags 'n' Whiskers , LadyBug Crafts .

Thanks so much for popping in today :)

Waiting for Spring......

Hello all!
After yet another week of snow showers and cold temperatures, I am really in the mood for Spring - right now please!  It seems to be taking forever to get here and my warm week in Las Vegas feels like it was months, not weeks ago.  Still the advantage of not wanting to to go outside into the dreary cold is that it means plenty of indoor time for crafting!  Always a silver lining somewhere :)
I recently coloured up an image that I had been wanting to get to for a long time - the gorgeous "Pearls in my hair" from 'A day for daisies'.   I love the sketchy feel to their images and the DT always comes up with completely fabulous inspiration pieces too.  After I had coloured her, I decided to keep all the focus on the image and made a very CAS card by just matting the image and a printed sentiment and adding a few little sparkles on the side.

I would like to enter her into the challenges at A day for daisies,  QKR stampede,  4 crafty chicks,  Sparkles , Oozak and Addicted to CAS.

Thanks so much for stopping by :)

I heart TOFF :)

Hello all!
Back with the first posting of a very busy day for me with DT postings so I hope you don't get sick and tired of seeing me :)
This one is for The Octopode Factory Friday challenge  (TOFF) and the theme is hearts  - but don't worry, it doesn't have to be a Valentine's card.  If you're like me, you'll have had just about enough of making Valentine's Day cards by now!  I chose to use the extremely glamourous Claudine and must have been channelling the very funny 'Absolutely Fabulous' sitcom with the sentiment.

The image was coloured with Copics, the sentiment was computer generated and I added washi tape to the background and on one of the heart cut-outs (all Cameo-d) - the XO sentiment was done with my Brother label-maker.  I had one of these as a child so it does make me smile to be using one on crafting :)

Putting this into the challenges at - Oozak ,  Art Impressions , Charisma CardzPaper Crafting Journey , Crafting by Designs and Crafty Creations .

Love conquers all.

Hello all!
It's a lovely sunny day here and I just found out that my card,  here , for the Saturated Canary challenge was picked as one of the top 6 so I'm definitely doing a happy dance this morning :)  Have you seen the crazy good DT cards for their latest challenge?  Wow, those DTeamies have some amazing colouring skills!
Yesterday I said I would be back with some more cards done using my new digis - which will be available tomorrow at Can You Digi It so here I am with a sneak preview.

The first card is made with my 'Love Conquers All' digi and I wanted it to be CAS but very striking - it isn't often that I really love what I make but I do have to say that this is one of my favourite cards ever!! I love how graphic and bold it looks and to me it has a retro style that reminds me of old fashioned tattoos (that may sound a bit weird but I know what I mean).  The black starburst background was done with my Cameo and I used contact paper (from Silhouette - the stuff used to transfer vinyl to things),  to transfer it across as I needed to make sure that everything lined up perfectly.   The digi was coloured with Copics  - I may try it with Distress Inks next as I think it would look great in sepia tones as well.

I would like to enter this into the challenges at -

My second card - yep, two for the price of one today! - is also CAS but it has a softer feel to it.  I coloured the Airmail Love digi with my Copics and then popped it with foam squares above the three strips of different patterned cardstock, adding a coloured Tim Holtz ticket and a pearly heart pin for a touch of bling.

Back in the swing of things....

Hello all!
I don't know about you but it seems to be taking me a while to get back into any sort of routine.  That includes crafting!  After a 2 week break, I'm finding it difficult to create anything - my enthusiasm is coming in fits and starts.  One quick burst enabled me to come up with a simple birthday card using a Teddy Bea digi.  I think I'm leaning towards more simple cards this year, trying to focus on the image more than anything else - I'm not that good at loading my cards up with a ton of embellishments, even after looking at all the fabulous creations out there for inspiration.

Anyway, here we go with a simple card; the image coloured with Copics and a touch of bling added with some adhesive pearls -  I also smudged some chalk ink around the edges and added my own computer generated sentiment.

I would like to enter this into the challenges at Teddy Bo (birthdays), Oozak (pink and bling) , A and T Emerald Faeries (Celebration) ,  Through the Craftroom Door, Top Tip Tuesday (fur or feathers) , Ooh La La Creations (birthday).

A Christmas candle

Hello all!
Back with a quick gift idea - just enough time to fit a few in before the big day!  I loved how easy these Octopode candles were to do and so I decided to do some more for gifts.  I printed out the Xmas Teddy Bo digi onto tissue paper and did some light colouring with my Copics.  It isn't really possible to do a great deal of blending and shading on the tissue paper but I don't think it matters too much in this case.
I cut around the image and applied it to the candle using wax paper and my heat gun - as long as you keep the heat gun moving, you shouldn't have any problems with the candle melting!

Here he is, posing with my vintage glass jars on a little table I recently painted (may do a post on that soon).  I love the touch of red against the pale blues and greys.

He's so cute that I may have to keep him myself!

K.I.S.S card

Hello all!
well, after yesterday's card of many bits, I'm back with something a bit more familiar to me.  Keep it simple silly (stupid seems a bit harsh!).  I would like to thank you for your comments and advice on this card - it's great to hear what other people think, especially if you've been obsessing over things!

Anyway, this card is definitely a K.I.S.S card and was done using my fabulous Silhouette Cameo - I do so love that machine :)  I'm also a fan of all the "Keep Calm" stuff and so decided to incorporate that into a Christmas card.  I used the actual Keep Calm font which I had downloaded from one of the many free font sites out there and made a bauble shape just by merging a circle and a small rounded corner rectangle.  The silver cardstock was backed with red to give it some punch and then I simply added a ribbon on the top - oh, nearly forgot the heat embossed edging of Stampendous white powder to give it a snow-kissed look!

Words, words, words......

Hello all!
There's a new challenge over at TOFF (The Octopode Factory) and this week the theme is 'words'.  Now you don't have to use an Octopode Factory image to enter but you do get the chance to win some so pop over to the challenge blog straight away after this!!

I've admitted to being a Pinterest addict but I am making the effort to actually do some of the many pins I've added to my boards and this is one of them.  Adding images to candles is really hot (no pun intended!) at the moment so I decided to try it.

I taped tissue paper around a regular piece of cardstock and printed my Octopode images onto the non-shiny side.  I then coloured them with Copics - you can't do much blending but I don't think that really matters on this occasion.  I cut around the images, leaving a border and placed them on the candles.  I then cut a piece of wax paper which was large enough to wrap around the candle and hold in place with the excess at the back and heated the image area with my heat gun.  You don't want to melt the candle (or burn your fingers!) so don't get too close and keep it moving.  You can see the wax paper becoming shiny as you heat it which means it is working!  Peel off the wax paper and there you have it .....

I'm very happy how well they turned out :)

Looks like everyone will be getting candles for Xmas!

Lonely snowman....

Hello all!
Like many of you out there I've been trying to get ahead with my Christmas cards (only 36 days - aaargh!!!!), so I'm planning on making a whole load of clean and simple cards this year. With that in mind, I revved up the Cameo and set to on some major cutting!  I just had to buy the winter trees cut file when I saw it in the Silhouette shop so I decided to use that as my starting point - I added a snowman digi from the fabulous Dillybeans and stuck on some tiny gems for a touch of christmas sparkle.

This was a very quick card to do and I love the CAS look!  Now I need to go through my files of Xmas digis and see what other stamps would work with those fantastic trees.

Still thinking pink.....

Hello all!

You can't miss the wonderful amount of support being shown for this month of Breast Cancer Awareness and it certainly means an awful lot of pink creating going on!  I'm on board with this card using one of the fabulous tiddly inks digi stamps - too cute :)

I used my Cameo to cut the hearts from plain white cardstock and then stuck a piece of pink dotted card behind that.  I popped the Copics coloured Fairy Wishes Wryn and frame onto foam dots , as well as the white cardstock to give some dimension to the whole card.  To keep it simple (my fave way of doing cards), I just added a stamped sentiment, some gems in the corners and a couple of tiny ribbon roses.

I would like to put this card into the following -

Frosty the snowmen

Hello all!
Been a simply gorgeous day here in the sunny UK which makes this card seem a little out of place really but never mind....
This was done using my set of Tim Holtz stamps - the ones I had signed by the man himself at CHA back in July!  I thought I should ink them up :)  I used the snowman three times with a different Copics colour for each one whilst the background was done with a scored piece of white cardstock and some die cut snowflakes, blinged up with an adhesive gem.

Nice and simple and that's another Xmas card done!  I would like to put this in for the following -

And just before I leave you, I have some great news  -  I am part of a fantastic new Design Team with an amazing new challenge blog heading your way very soon!! This is all the fault of the wonderful Elaine ( a fellow Outlawz DT) - you can get to know her here - http://ellapu.blogspot.co.uk/

A sneaky look!

Hello all!
I'm giving you a sneak peek at my new digis that will be available from tomorrow here under LilyPink Designs.  Last month I came up with some early Christmas digis, so I thought I should work backwards from that with a couple for Halloween (makes sense to me!)

The first card I made using the 'Bewitching' digi - she's obviously a shy witch as you can't see her face but that just adds to the mystery.  I printed her as a tag and coloured her with my favourite craft tools - my Copics and added a few black gems and some glittered stars.

She's all decked out in purple so I can enter her into the Can You Digi It challenge and I would also like to put her in for the challenges at http://jacksonsdigitalexpressions.blogspot.ca/  and http://simonsaysstampandshow.blogspot.com/ .

The next digi could be used for Halloween, Thanksgiving or just a general Autumn theme -

I went for a rustic feel by using kraft cardstock, corrugated cardboard, raffia, craft leaves and buttons - the digi was coloured with Copics.

I would like to put this card into the following challenges -

http://blog.oozak.com/ - Fall themed

I also came up with a very simple but effective Mr & Mrs digi

and a collage style background that looks great printed onto coloured cardstock

Thanks for stopping by to take a look :)  Hope you liked what you saw!

Who gives a hoot?

Hello all!
Back with my first card for the new week and as much as I like the card, I didn't like making it!  Only because it's an Autumn themed card and I'm not ready to let go of summer just yet.  Anyway, the card is done using one of the fabulous digis from Mayzy Art for the challenge at the Mayzy Art blog which is "Silly".  I wasn't sure what to do and then I noticed one of the freebie digis I had received when I last placed an order - so generous, you get a freebie whenever you order :)  I thought the digi was fairly silly so decided to go with it -

I coloured the pair with Copics and added them to a tag that had some inked, corrugated cardboard adhered to it.  I cut a backing piece of cardstock and some leaf shapes using my Cameo and then inked through the negative leaf shapes to add some contrast to the background and added a few bits of crafting tape, some gems and a wooden leaf - the sentiment was simply printed with my pc.

I would also like to enter this into the following challenges -

Thanks for stopping to take a look and a big hello to my new followers too :)

Bloom where you are planted.

Hello for the second time today - just sneaking in under the wire with my entry for the Saturated Canary  challenge which ends in just a couple of hours!!  Phew, only just made it!

I decided to print this digi in a light grey and aim for a watercolour/washed out kind of look with the colouring as well - nothing to do with the fact that a lot of my Copics are running low on ink and I need to get some refills!!!

I actually do like the end result as it's much softer than I would have imagined  - I tend to have a heavy hand with Copics and long to achieve that wonderful distressed look so many of you manage to do (effortlessly it seems to me!).

I would also like to put this in for the following challenges -

Many thanks for popping in :)

Dance as if no-one is watching....

Yay - it's the middle of the week which means we're getting close to the weekend and with that in mind, my card today is an extremely bright and cheerful number!  It's also very pink but I do have to get it out of my system every now and then.

This was done using a Teddy Bea digi for the current challenge at  teddybochallenge.blogspot. which is a sketch challenge.  They are also looking for new DT members so head on over there if you're as big a fan as I am :)

This was done using some papers from 'My Mind's Eye' that I was lucky enough to win at the http://chocolatecoffeecards.blogspot from an online store called 'Unique Crafters' .  I couldn't resist using them immediately!  I added some machine stitching and distressed the cardstock edges with a pair of old scissors and that was it - I kept the embellishments simple as I felt the dp was enough on its own!

Just a little touch of magic.

Hello again - back for my second posting for Friday, the Copics/Promarkers challenge over at The Outlawz which is all about 'magic' this week.  This could be interpreted as magical which is the way I chose to go and I used a fantastic digi from our sponsor, Mayzy art, called Nova, the Elven Princess which is available here.
I used my Silhouette to cut out a flower shape on two different layers of cardstock and used the negative space on each, offsetting them slightly.  On the background layer, I stamped and embossed some script and them added a few butterflies and some swirly bling.

The rest of the DT at The Outlawz have come up with some amazing creations so I recommend a quick trip over there to check them out!

I would also like to enter this into the following challenges -
