I'm still working on Christmas cards and this is another CAS looking one - even though the making of the card itself wasn't particularly simple! I used a digi Xmas elf from the wonderful Make it Crafty and kept the colour scheme to just blue and orange, so far so simple right? Then I decided to do some heat embossing - not something I do very often but I wanted to add some snowflakes and didn't just want to stamp them in ink alone. I used two different rubber stamps from my stash and embossed them with Stampendous Opaque white powder, then sponging a pale blue ink pad over the whole background. To add further interest and texture, I embossed a snowflake garland, cut using my Cameo and this was where the embossing got very messy! I don't need to go into details but you really shouldn't have a sneezing fit when using embossing powder, especially when you're doing it near your pc keyboatd!!
Moving on! The card was then finished off with a Xmas sentiment which I inked in the same background colour - it shows up far better IRL, trust me! So, one (not so) clean and simple Christmas card finished!

Great card. This little elf is so cute and so beautifully colored. I also love your snowflakes circle. Beautiful card!
This is so cute, Dawn! Love the snowflakes and the fun MiC elf! Great coloring!
LOL...I'm glad I'm not the only one these things happen to Dawn! When I was reading your post and read blue and orange before I saw your card I was a bit dubious but the colors look fab together. Your coloring is fantastic and I love the circle of snowflakes even though it caused the mess lol. Thanks for joining in our Snowflake challenge at LCI this fortnight xx

Aw, Dawn, your sneezing fit sounds like something I might do! (or have a time or two!) But, all's well that ends well--and well, your card certainly did! I just love all the blue with the touch of orange! Fabulous coloring, great design, and I love all of the snowflakes!! Cool sentiment, too! :^)
Hugs, Penny

Oh I so agree with Teresa! Fantastic! That orange really sets off the blue.
It's wonderful!
I love the color scheme, love the embossed snowflakes, and that beautiful snowflake garland.
I've had sneezing fits when using glitter, embossing powder, or flower soft and it usually creates a total mess. Fortunately, my Mac is two stories away!
