A truck-load of love!

Hello all!

yes, I'm back once again (last one today, I promise!) with another DT posting and this time the challenge is over at Scriibbles Designs.  For this month's theme we are looking for 'Shades of Red' on your creations and remember, you must use a Scribbles digi - if you check out the challenge blog you can find a couple of freebies to get you started :)

             As this is a monthly challenge, you have plenty of time to enter so why not check out the rest of the DT's work for inspiration.  The prize is 3 digital Scribbles Designs for the Top Scribbler, chosen by Random.org and 1 digi each for the Top 3, chosen by the DT.

                    My card is done using the cute little hearts truck - what better way to add some red?.  I'm still on the CAS highway with this one with just the addition of a strip of washi tape (adding this to everything lately!) and a computer printed sentiment.

How cute is that truck?

Oldie but goodie....

Hello all!
I'm back in my hometown on the other side of the Atlantic for a couple of weeks and I'm definitely feeling the change in temperature! I think I've got used to those hot and humid summer temperatures of New Jersey :)   Never mind, we're due some sunshine here later on in the week.
       Just a quick posting as I've got a play date with 2 little girls today and I need to lose the jetlag pretty quickly in order to keep up with them :)

                                   My card today is done using one of the digis drawn by Mr LPS (I'm not sure he'd appreciate me calling him Mr LilyPinkScraps so I thought I'd abbreviate it!).  I've mentioned before that he's a bit keen on most things automotive and he does have a real love of American Classics - this card was made with his latest digi for my Etsy shop.

 

 

     I merged the digi with some digital brushes using Adobe PSE and printed it on some neutral deigner cardstock - the sentiment was done using my Dymo labeller. This is such a detailed digi that it stands alone extremely well without any colouring at all, making a very quick and easy card!

It's a big one!!

Hey again!  Back with a second post for the day - I'm trying to get it in quickly in case we lose our internet access again; we didn't have any internet or landline phone connection all day yesterday and it's only just come back on!  Boy, was I lost without it - just shows how much I rely on it and I'm not sure that's a good thing............................

Anyway, I saw a blog hop over at http://kennykskraftykrew.blogspot.com/ with some great prizes so i thought I would have a go.  The challenge theme is 'big birthdays' and as my hubby is edging closer to the big 50, I thought I would go with that (I'll probably end up doing him a Harley-themed card in the end, as always!)

I went for a 'side-step' card for a change and matted the "Surprise Kid" digi so it would hang over the edge of the card - I wanted a crooked feel to the whole thing!  The digi was a freebie from http://www.kennykdownloads.com/ - there's usually a different one each month, well worth checking out :)

Vintage racer

Hello all!
My card today was done in response to the challenge over at simon says stamp and show which is to use a Tim Holtz technique.  I had seen a few videos on different ways to use the Distress stains so I decided to use mine with the resist heat-embossed technique.  I stamped my background stamps onto medium weight watercolour paper with an embossing stamp pad and then added some white Martha Stewart embossing powder from my stash - I have to admit that I rarely use these but now there'll be no stopping me!!  Once the powder had been heated, I swiped over the paper with the 'broken china' and 'bundled sage' Distress stains and blotted up the excess.  I then stamped a few words and some more pattern over the background with black Memento ink and it was ready for my image.
        The digi is one that my clever hubby drew and is available in my etsy shop here.  We're both huge racing fans - cars and bikes, so this was an ideal choice!  I used the Copics warm and cool greys to colour the digi and then just kept it simple by adding a couple of tickets.

Birthday card for hubbie :)

Well I can finally post this card that's been hiding away in my craft room since I made it!  My very clever hubby (a Harley man ) came up with this digi for me to sell in my Etsy shop LilyPinkScraps  and I just had to make a card for him with it.  I chose to use my orange Copic markers with some of the cool greys to colour it, orange being one of the colours Harley Davidson are known for.

This is a very detailed digi and I really admire his patience in doing this - it did take several sessions on the pc but well worth it!  He also did the logo himself as he wants to come up with a t-shirt design for himself.

               Many of us cardmakers struggle when it comes to cards for guys so I am planning to add to my digis for sale in both my Etsy shop and also at Can You Digi It? with some cars, trucks and bikes (with the help of hubby who is a bit of a petrol-head, or gear-head, depending on which country you live!)
