Have a wheely great day!

Hello all!
Apologies for the very poor pun but it is Monday morning after all.  I'm just adding a quick post as I want to get this card in for a couple of challenges I like to do -  a very simple card using one of my digis available from Etsy shop.   I bought a vintage Sears catalogue on one of our junking trips and have digitally cleaned some of the copyright free images to use as digital stamps.
I have always liked the look of those prints that have an image printed over a text-filled page from a dictionary or something similar and as I also have an old dictionary from yet another junking trip, I decided to try it.  I taped a sheet from the dictionary onto a regular piece of printer paper and ran it through the printer - it worked just fine.
I added a touch of colour with the card mat, some washi tape and a dymo tape sentiment and that's all folks!

Lonely snowman....

Hello all!
Like many of you out there I've been trying to get ahead with my Christmas cards (only 36 days - aaargh!!!!), so I'm planning on making a whole load of clean and simple cards this year. With that in mind, I revved up the Cameo and set to on some major cutting!  I just had to buy the winter trees cut file when I saw it in the Silhouette shop so I decided to use that as my starting point - I added a snowman digi from the fabulous Dillybeans and stuck on some tiny gems for a touch of christmas sparkle.

This was a very quick card to do and I love the CAS look!  Now I need to go through my files of Xmas digis and see what other stamps would work with those fantastic trees.

Summer dreams.

Monday morning - good or bad?  For me, it depends on what the weather is up to!  I'm definitely happier when the sun is out (it isn't at the moment) and I'm a summer person who looks forward to that season as soon as October arrives!!  Anyway, the image on my card today reminds me of those lazy summer days when you can just relax and enjoy the day :)

This is one of my favourite Teddy Bo digis - he's such a chilled out little dude!  I had made this card a while ago for a pink and brown challenge that I missed the entry date for - doh!  I then tidied up my craft room for guests and couldn't find anything (still having trouble!) - I'm not the tidiest of crafters......

Delight in the little things.

Good morning/afternoon/evening - that should cover it :)
Today I'm back  with a posting for a card that started off as an ATC which isn't something I do a great deal of but I wanted to enter the challenge over at Stampotique  - create an ATC. Anyway I figured if looked good enough then I could use it on a card as well and luckily for me, it all worked out!

I used a Stampotique stamp called 'Starbird with chick' available here .  It's one from the fabulous Jo Capper-Sandon and I will admit that I've been stalking her blog for some time now - I just love her style and she is so very good at CAS and using a variety of techniques that create amazing backgrounds (you really need to take a look!).  Anyway, I swiped an ink pad over the card base which is something I've seen Jo do a number of times (love it!) and then printed a line of text repeating the word 'sing' to put over this.  The ATC background was made by smooshing some cardstock over some leftover distress inks I had been using for another card - I just spritzed some water and pressed the cardstock down.  I then stamped some dots, the sentiment and the bird and tore off a small scrap of musical paper to ground the image.  I then added a touch of brown to the bird with a regular pencil (I don't have any fancy ones - yet!!).

That seems to be a very detailed description for a fairly CAS card!

I would also like to enter the card into the following -
http://simonsaysstampandshow.blogspot.com/ - favourite word (sing!)
http://cropstop.blogspot.com/2012/04/challenge-69-to-birds.html - to the birds
http://audsentimentschallengeblog.blogspot.com/ - anything goes
http://www.lisasomerville.com/ - create your own background

Thanks for sticking with me on this fairly lengthy (for me) posting :)

Hope for summer!

Good Morning!  I hope this Saturday finds you fit and well and enjoying some sunshine somewhere.....
My card today is a really simple affair - I was playing around with my Gelatos again and just did a few swipes of the two blues and thought how perfect it would be as a background to the 'Technique Tuesday' clear stamp called "Big Wish" available here at Can You Digi It.
I simply matted the stamped image onto some white cardstock and embossed a line frame around it, repeating that on the main cardstock background, added some appropriately striped nautical-feel backing card and a simple metal charm.

So very simple and fresh looking - I'm thinking it would look good in a white frame in a seaside cottage somewhere...........................

Easter chick!

Happy Easter to all who celebrate!  I hope your Easter weekend has been fantastic :)

I'm popping in quickly with a card I was making as I was waiting for the dinner to cook - the smell of roast chicken is wafting through the house and I started to feel decidely guilty as I put this card together!

This is done using one of my new digis available now at Can You Digi It.  It's a trio called 'Patchwork Party' and I just used the chick  - once as the momma bird and then resized it for the three chickies and merged them together.

Happily this fits in nicely with the challenge over with the CAS team at The Outlawz which is to use shapes - mine are the pennant flags and heart shapes.  Why not head over there to check out the fabulous samples from the CAS design team?

I would also like to enter this into the following challenges -

Good shoes!

My card today is done with one of my digis again - this is a new one called "Good shoes" and I used the sketch from Retro sketches challenge for this week.
The digi is available with black shoes as seen above and also in an uncoloured version, both with the sentiment shown.  I just added a touch of flesh colour Copics to the ankles and there you have it,  one very quick card!!
Just a quick post this time - for a quick card :)

Spring flowers

Back again, on a gorgeous sunny day :)  Doesn't it just seem better when the sun shines?  It was warm enough to sit outside and spend some time with my Kindle yesterday; one of my favourite hobbies is reading and has been from a very early age - I just love getting lost in a good book!
Anyway, on to the card for today - a CAS one for the Sunday challenge group over at The Outlawz which is "floral" this week.  I used one of my own digis from LilyPink Designs and printed it 3 times to get the layers - some simple colouring with copics, a twine tied button and a sentiment stamped with a dollar stamp from Michaels and it was done!

I would like to enter this card for the following -

That's all for now - thanks so much for stopping by and here's hoping the sunshine lasts :)

Colour your world!

Today I'm posting a card made with one of my own digis - I know, shameless promotion!!  This little cutie is called Penelope and she's available here at Can You Digi It .  She's based on one of the baby elephants that I saw last year at Whipsnade Zoo in England - they were extremely cute :)

I entered this for fun into the CAS challenge over at The Outlawz - this week the group are asking for you to use an animal or animal print.  I paper pieced her body and then used my Copics to add colour to the polka dots and a touch of shadow.

I would also like to enter this for the following challenges -

CAS challenge at The Outlawz

Sunday at The Outlawz is Clean & Simple challenge day and today the challenge is to create a card for a wedding, engagement or anniversary.
I've been pinning away like crazy on Pinterest lately and the other day I came across a card I really loved  so I used it as inspiration for mine.  I cut a rectangle from waste card and then swiped a red and orange ink pad over the cut out space.  All I had to do then was add the rub-ons (which I think were Basic Grey) and the card was done.
Possibly the simplest card I've done and I love the pop of colour with the black and all the white space - yummy!

Thanks for stopping by :)
