Floral fun.

Hello all!
It's time for another challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu and it's the turn of the PINK team this week- the challenge is being hosted by Kelly and the theme is flowers so why not come and show us what you can do?

For my card I left the CAS path (it's only temporary!) and used one of my own digis, available from Can You Digi It.  I've been playing around with some images from a vintage Sears catalogue - they're what's known as 'in the public domain' and so I've been digitally cleaning them and repurposing them as digi stamps.  I used this corset one as a tag, coloured the image with Copics and aged it using alcohol inks and Distress ink pads.  The card background is made up from scraps of designer cardstock, distressed and inked at the edges, fabric scraps, buttons, a length of vintage tape measure, a metal charm and some punched out flowers.

I would like to put this in for the challenges at Craft Room Challenge , Through the Craftroom Door , Card Crafter's Circle , Colour Me Creative and The Hobby House.

Thanks for stopping by!

Some NY attitude!

Hello all!
I'm back with a card for the current challenge over at Kenny K's Kraft Krew which is a Tic Tac Toe one.  I love these digis and it was actually this company that started me off on the whole digi stamp and copics road - they're to blame for the large hole in my bank account!

I digitally merged Brooklyn Babe with one of my own digis - New York from the set of City Smash stamps available from Can You Digi It.  For the Tic Tac Toe aspect I used the line that had 'digi - twine - sentiment- pearl'.  If you look really closely you can just make out the pearl as the lollipop she's holding (it may be small but it still counts, right?).

I'm still in my CAS mode as you can see so I kept the background very simple with just a strip of cardstock and dictionary paper, a grungy style rubber stamped mesh and the stamped sentiment.

     Thanks for stopping by :)

One layer card with fake layers?

Hello all!
Bit of a strange post title I know but it's early and my brain isn't at full capacity yet (need my 2nd mug of tea!)  Anyway, I've been drawing up some new digis which will work as background frames for any number of the fab images out there from all those amazing digi artists - I wanted to come up with some backing frames that could be merged with an image and used to create a one layer card, giving the impression of several layers.  Does that make any sense at all????
Maybe I should show you what I mean -

Now I won't attempt to explain how to merge digital images here, you can see from my waffling above that I don't have any expertise in explaining things clearly but I will give you some links that show you how to do so here, here , and here.  (that really sounds like I'm doing the airplane emergency evacuation speech!)

So, with the frame done and available from Can You Digi It (my digis are all under the name 'LilyPink Designs'). I decided to make a one layer card with it.  I merged a fave image from Kenny K on top of the frame and coloured the whole thing with Copics.

So, a one layer card that looks like it has several layers - does it make sense now?

I would like to enter this into the challenges at Kenny K's Krafty Krew , One Stitch at a Time , Corrosive Challenge , The Paper Players , Colour Me Creative and Through the Craftroom Door.

Thanks for stopping by today :)

Things with wings

Hello all!
Friday has managed to whizz around again and that means another challenge over at The Outlawz alcohol markets group.  We have a new member of the DT who has joined us - some of you may have already seen her fabulous creations around blogland. You can find Jen here and in this week's challenge so a very warm welcome to her :)

The challenge theme this week is "Winged Things" - plenty of scope for creativity there but remember that you must use alcohol markers (of any brand) in order to be eligible to play.  I used one of my own digis, available from Can You Digi It and turned out a general 'Good Luck' type of card.

My little duck with his rubber ring was coloured with Copics and I used up some scraps of designer cardstock and another page from my old dictionary.  The sentiment was stamped with a vintage stamping set I picked up last year when out junking - love it when I can combine two hobbies :)

i would like to enter this into the challenges at CCEE Stampers , Delightful Challenges , Little Miss Muffet , Creative Moments and Inklings and Yarns .

Thanks so much for stopping to take a look :)

Lucky, lucky, lucky........

Hello all!
I've been working on some new digis for LilyPink Designs @ Can You Digi It and it shouldn't be a surprise to those of you lovely blog readers who do actually read my burble, as to where I got my inspiration from this time!
These digis will be available from CYDI this coming Friday and would be ideal for any scrapping fans as well as card-makers :)   Enough of the sales pitch - here they are to show you what I'm waffling on about :

Yep, can't get Vegas out of my head yet!  But I have managed to make a card by combining one of these new images with one from a favourite company of mine - Kenny K and I even managed to follow a sketch for it (most unlike me as I usually colour before I plan a layout - I'm trying to be more organised!).

I now have the "Luck be a Lady" song going round in my head - very Vegas!!

I used the sketch from Mojo Monday (281) and it also fits in with the following challenges at Kenny K's Krafty Krew, Creative Creations, Penny's Paper CraftyCraft Room Challenge, and Through the CraftRoom Door .

Thanks for stopping by and thanks also for your lovely comments - I appreciate each and every one :)

A truck-load of love!

Hello all!
yes, I'm back once again (last one today, I promise!) with another DT posting and this time the challenge is over at Scriibbles Designs.  For this month's theme we are looking for 'Shades of Red' on your creations and remember, you must use a Scribbles digi - if you check out the challenge blog you can find a couple of freebies to get you started :)
As this is a monthly challenge, you have plenty of time to enter so why not check out the rest of the DT's work for inspiration.  The prize is 3 digital Scribbles Designs for the Top Scribbler, chosen by Random.org and 1 digi each for the Top 3, chosen by the DT.

My card is done using the cute little hearts truck - what better way to add some red?.  I'm still on the CAS highway with this one with just the addition of a strip of washi tape (adding this to everything lately!) and a computer printed sentiment.

How cute is that truck?

I would like to enter this into the challenges at - Can You Digi It , Cards for Men , Sincerely Yours Creations , Lil Red Wagon and Celebrate the Occasion.

Thanks so much for popping in - hope your weekend is a good one :)

XO

Hello all!
Back after a short break from reality!  We just got back from a packed week in Las Vegas, celebrating a significant birthday for hubby and I think we need a vacation to recover!  So much walking, around all the amazing and very large hotels and also around Red Rock Canyon and the Valley of Fire (which was incredibly beautiful).  I surprised hubby by flying over his daughter from the UK - his face was indeed a picture when he saw her :)
Anyway, back to normal now and I'm behind in my blog postings and commenting so please bear with me whilst I play catch-up.  My first posting is for the latest Copics/alcohol markers challenge over at The Outlawz which is 'Valentines'.  I decided to play with one of my own LilyPink Designs digis from Can You Digi It and used a card I had pinned as inspiration  - from  Just Jingle .

I coloured my winged heart with Copics and then fussy cut it  - I added several strips of washi tape to some white cardstock and used my Cameo to cut the graduated dots.  The 'XO' chipboard letters were painted white and I poured on some white glitter while the paint was still wet and finally I backed the white card with some black for some extra pop!

Thanks for popping in and I will get around to your wonderful blogs very soon :)

Black & White and read all over.

Hello all!
It's time for another challenge from the PINK team at Eclectic Ellapu and this week, it's my turn to pick the theme.  I love black and white photos and most art created with text so I decided that should be the challenge - to create something with black and white and to use text as well.  I know that those of you who love bright colours may think this isn't for them but I would encourage you to give it a go.  It's always fun to try something new and you can get so much variety from just using black and white - take a look at the fabulous creations from the DT if you don't believe me!!

For my card, I decided to use one of my own digis available from Can You Digi It - LilyPink Designs - a silhouette couple in a heart.  With the addition of a computer generated script background and some Cameo cutting of the main sentiment, I had a simple and easy card ideal for Valentine's Day, a wedding or anniversary or just plain 'because'.

Fab at 40!

Hello all!
Friday again and time for another challenge over at The Outlawz Copics/alcohol markers group.  This week we are asking you to celebrate a milestone birthday with us.  It can be any milestone number you like so the choice is wide - plenty of scope to come up with something!  Our prize this month is $15 to spend in the Etsy store of your choice so why not join in - you could be the lucky winner :)

For my card I chose to make one for my youngest sister's birthday (which has been and gone now so I'm safe to post this).  I can't tell you how old it makes me feel now that my youngest sister is 40!!  I think I dealt with my 40th better than I'm doing with this one.  Anyway, her favourite colour is purple/lilac so I decided to go with a monochrome palette and use one of my favourite digi companies, Teddy Bo .
I enlarged the image to make it fit almost the whole height of the 6x6 card and then coloured it with my Copics - I had added the "40" before I printed it.   I chalk-inked the edges and added a button to Teddy Bea's hat and matted the image layer onto a lilac layer before sticking to the main card front.

Love conquers all.

Hello all!
It's a lovely sunny day here and I just found out that my card,  here , for the Saturated Canary challenge was picked as one of the top 6 so I'm definitely doing a happy dance this morning :)  Have you seen the crazy good DT cards for their latest challenge?  Wow, those DTeamies have some amazing colouring skills!
Yesterday I said I would be back with some more cards done using my new digis - which will be available tomorrow at Can You Digi It so here I am with a sneak preview.

The first card is made with my 'Love Conquers All' digi and I wanted it to be CAS but very striking - it isn't often that I really love what I make but I do have to say that this is one of my favourite cards ever!! I love how graphic and bold it looks and to me it has a retro style that reminds me of old fashioned tattoos (that may sound a bit weird but I know what I mean).  The black starburst background was done with my Cameo and I used contact paper (from Silhouette - the stuff used to transfer vinyl to things),  to transfer it across as I needed to make sure that everything lined up perfectly.   The digi was coloured with Copics  - I may try it with Distress Inks next as I think it would look great in sepia tones as well.

I would like to enter this into the challenges at -

My second card - yep, two for the price of one today! - is also CAS but it has a softer feel to it.  I coloured the Airmail Love digi with my Copics and then popped it with foam squares above the three strips of different patterned cardstock, adding a coloured Tim Holtz ticket and a pearly heart pin for a touch of bling.

Contrary Mary!!

Hello all!
Now, I know what I said in my last few posts but shock and horror,  this one isn't a CAS card!  Just chalk it up to being an Aquarian - "unconventional individualists" or contrary as my OH would say!
Anyway I wanted to do a card that used one of my new digis (available this coming Friday at Can You Digi It LilyPink Designs ) so I decided to merge a Kenny K digi called Scarlett West with my Steampunked Top Hat digi.  The card may not be CAS but it doesn't have that much clutter on it - just a few cogs, brads and a clock face.  Oh, not forgetting the corner frames as I felt it looked unbalanced without just a little something more - and then I added a small key charm to Scarlett's bag strap - so, summing up, not CAS but not too loaded either........
                                   On to the photo!

As I said, the top hat digi is one of my new ones and will be available to buy this Friday along with 3 additional new images.  Two of these will be ideal for Valentine's Day cards and tomorrow I will be showing a couple more creations using them.

I would like to enter this into the challenges at - Kenny K's Krafty Krew , Cards Galore , One Crazy Stamper , Inky Chicks , Artistic Inspirations , Lady Anne's Challenges .

Thanks so much for stopping by and a big hello to my new followers :)
