"Time" for another Eclectic Ellapu challenge

Hello all!
As you may have guessed from the post title, the current challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu is "Time"  Lots of scope for artistic interpretation with this one and if you head on over to the blog you can see the wonderful creations from the DT, which may give you a head start!
I decided to whip up another scrapbook page and kept going with my CAS trend for this one.  I picked 3 photos of one of my super cute nieces, from a couple of years ago to use - she would run everywhere and it was difficult to get ahead of her to capture these shots.
I'm trying to use up some of the many scraps of paper I have and this layout was ideal for that.  I printed the journalling ticket myself and added some Cameo cut butterflies for decoration.  I was trying to say how quickly time goes by - especially when you realise you are several years behind with your scrapbooking!

I would like to enter this into the challenges at Through the Craftroom Door , Crafting By Designs , Crafts and Me , Flutterby Wednesdays and Lady Anne's Challenges.

Some scholarly appreciation.

Hello all!
Fabulous Friday is here once again and so begins a new challenge at The Outlawz for the alcohol markers DT.  Now for those of you who are not familiar with alcohol markers, there are a number of different brands out there, all of which contain alcohol-based dye ink which have special properties: they allow you blend colours together without tearing up your paper as you might with a water-based ink.  I have only ever used Copics as I like the fact that they are refillable - I would love to hear anyone's thoughts on any other brands.
So, not a DT that drinks alcohol whilst colouring - well, I'm not admitting to anything anyway!

The theme this week is Graduation/school's out but I did go the other way with mine and did a 'back to school' card.  We're a very flexible group when it comes down to it - all we insist upon is that you use alcohol markers and then you can interpret the theme in your own way :)
For my card I used a digi from Make It Crafty and some inspiration from this very creative lady - Alice's Little Wonderland .  You can see some wonderful colouring and some gorgeous CAS cards here so it's well worth a visit!

I would like to enter this into the challenges at My Heart Pieces , Through the Craftroom Door , Addicted to Stamps and More , Penny's Paper Crafty , Charisma Cardz and Bearly Mine.

Thanks so much for stopping by !

Playing with vellum

Hello all!
I know I've been a bit thin on the ground for postings this week but I've been busy with other stuff.  I did manage to get some craft time earlier and was playing around with some vellum that I've had in my stash for several years now!  It was one of those items that I bought and then didn't really know what to do with it - still not sure but I thought I'd print out a digi and go from there.  I chose a Saturated Canary image ( she's called Sleepng Beauty) and then I checked out the current challenge over at  the challenge blog.
I didn't want to colour her completely as I wanted the see-through look from the vellum so I just added a touch of colour to her eyes and hair.  I then used my Dylusions ink sprays to get the gorgeously vivid colours for the background and decided to keep everything else white (except for the pale grey stamping on the card base and tag).   The frame, swirl. tag and flowers were of course cut with my Cameo and the sentiment is a rub-on (not sure by who as again, it's been in my stash for a very long time!)

My only niggle is that she has a purple blotch showing through right above her eye!!  Never mind - if you don't try these things, you don't know how they'll work out.

I would like to enter this into the challenges at Saturated CanarySimon Says StampTTCRDSilhouette and My Heart Pieces.

Thanks for stopping by!

Floral Friday Fun

Hello all!
I can't believe that I'm writing another post for the Friday Copics/Promarkers DT again!  How did the last week slip by so quickly?  Anyway our challenge for this week is 'May Flowers" and I may have played a bit fast and loose with the 'May" bit as I used sunflowers!  I love sunflowers and I really did think they bloomed a bit earlier than they do...........  never mind, I don't think we'll be getting the gardening books out to check up on any of your entries :)
So, I did some more merging of digis for this card - I always use my Adobe PSE for this but there are plenty of other ways to do it (just Google it).  I used Kenny K's farmer's daughter and Make it Crafty sunflower garden and coloured the whole scene with my trusty Copics.  I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the matching sunflower shaped card base and matted the image on to coordinating cardstock.  The sentiment was computer generated when I merged the images.

I would like to enter this into the challenges at Kenny K , Card ManiaCrafty RibbonsDL ArtMy Heart Pieces and Through the Craftroom Door.

We would love to see you join us over at The Outlawz for this challenge!  Thanks so much for stopping by today :)

Some NY attitude!

Hello all!
I'm back with a card for the current challenge over at Kenny K's Kraft Krew which is a Tic Tac Toe one.  I love these digis and it was actually this company that started me off on the whole digi stamp and copics road - they're to blame for the large hole in my bank account!

I digitally merged Brooklyn Babe with one of my own digis - New York from the set of City Smash stamps available from Can You Digi It.  For the Tic Tac Toe aspect I used the line that had 'digi - twine - sentiment- pearl'.  If you look really closely you can just make out the pearl as the lollipop she's holding (it may be small but it still counts, right?).

I'm still in my CAS mode as you can see so I kept the background very simple with just a strip of cardstock and dictionary paper, a grungy style rubber stamped mesh and the stamped sentiment.

     Thanks for stopping by :)

Tagged it!

Hello all!
Back with my 2nd posting of the day - you can find my Outlawz DT post here.  This time I'm posting for the current challenge over at The Octopode Factory which is tags.  I decided to use one of Lily's silhouette digis for mine - the cat from Animal Fair Collection and I cut it using my Silhouette Cameo which works perfectly for this!
The tag itself was cut from thick watercolour paper which I sprayed with Dylusions Inks and then stamped some random patterns and images and added more colour with a few Faber Castell Gelatos.

One cool cat!
Why not come and join us over at TOFF. ?

I would like to enter this into the following challenges - Through the Craftroom Door, Inspired by Stamping, Penny's Paper Crafty, Simon Says Stamp, and Simon Says Stamp and Show.

Thanks for popping in !

A touch of whimsy.

Hello all!
I'm back (if a little late) with this week's challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu for the PINK team and this time the theme, chosen by Berni is 'whimsy'.
The reason I'm a bit late in posting this is that we headed off to the wilds of Connecticut early this morning - well, to New Milford anyway as we wanted to check out the Elephant's Trunk flea market.  It was good but absolutely freezing!!  I think we plan on keeping our junking trips to indoor places until it warms up a bit.  We didn't come back with much but yesterday I did manage to score a very cheap load of small furniture bits to redo so I'm set for a couple of weeks.  It's another hobby of mine - redoing, repainting, restyling small furniture and bits.  I may do some posts about it at some point.....

So enough of the waffling and back to the challenge - with April 1st coming up fast, it's the perfect time to create something fun and for my project I decided to make my own mini art journal.  I've been playing around with paints, inks and mixed media stuff for a while now and so I wanted something I could do this in.  I didn't want a full sized book though so cut some cardstock and watercolour paper to about 7x9 inches and made a chipboard cover, binding it with my Zutter Bind-it-all.  For the cover I used a fabulously whimsical Octopode Factory digi -( 'sad little pierrot') which I printed over some song lyrics and then masked as I attacked the background with Dylusions Inks, various stamps, chalks, inks and markers.  I painted the digi with acrylic paints and inks and added some definition with a fine nib Sharpie.

I'll leave you with a close-up of the little clown.

Thanks so much for popping in :)

A four legged friend......

Hello all!
Happy 1st of the month to you all and I hope it's the start of some spring-like weather to replace all these awful storms and snow here in the States.  Also Happy St David's Day to any Welsh followers I may have!

Friday means a new challenge over at The Outlawz alcohol markers group and for this week, our theme is pets - although my title says a four legged friend, you don't have to limit yourself to that as plenty of pets have less or more than four legs (or even no legs!).  So before I wander too far from the path, here's the card details - very easy as it's yet another CAS card.  For this one I used one of my own digital stamps called Deefur.  I drew him based on a photo of a very cute dog I used to share my life with, a Jack Russell Terrier called Oscar.  He was such a cutie and a real character - loved him to bits :)

This is sort of a one layer card apart from the fact that I matted the image layer onto brown cardstock and then on to the card base - so a three layer card really!  I coloured the image using the dot technique as I wanted to give him the look of texture.

I would like to enter this into the challenges at Simon Says Stamp , Through the Craftroom Door , The Paper Shelter , Divas by Design  and Craft Us Crazy .

Thanks for popping in :)

Lucky, lucky, lucky........

Hello all!
I've been working on some new digis for LilyPink Designs @ Can You Digi It and it shouldn't be a surprise to those of you lovely blog readers who do actually read my burble, as to where I got my inspiration from this time!
These digis will be available from CYDI this coming Friday and would be ideal for any scrapping fans as well as card-makers :)   Enough of the sales pitch - here they are to show you what I'm waffling on about :

Yep, can't get Vegas out of my head yet!  But I have managed to make a card by combining one of these new images with one from a favourite company of mine - Kenny K and I even managed to follow a sketch for it (most unlike me as I usually colour before I plan a layout - I'm trying to be more organised!).

I now have the "Luck be a Lady" song going round in my head - very Vegas!!

I used the sketch from Mojo Monday (281) and it also fits in with the following challenges at Kenny K's Krafty Krew, Creative Creations, Penny's Paper CraftyCraft Room Challenge, and Through the CraftRoom Door .

Thanks for stopping by and thanks also for your lovely comments - I appreciate each and every one :)

Just for you

Hello all!
Back with my second Friday DT posting and for this one we need to head over to The Outlawz Friday Copics/Promarkers group.  Our challenge this week is 'Thinking of You' which you can take to mean a sympathy card or a more general card but you must use alcohol markers to colour your image - that is the whole point of our group after all :)
You also get the chance to win a fabulous prize this month - a $15 gift certificate to Mo's Digital Pencil which has been very generously donated by our fabulous DTeamie Carla!
For my card I used a clear stamp from a set I picked up the last time I was in England - Wellington Bear by Docrafts.  I'm back to exreme CAS with this one - just the Copics coloured image, some washi tape, a stamped sentiment, some gems and matting.

I would like to put this in for the following challenges - Through the Craftroom Door , Milk Coffee challenge , Cuttin and Stampin , LEJ Designs , My Grafico .

Thanks for stopping by again :)

Love is in the air......

Hello all!
Back with a card that I very nearly forgot to post!  I had it ready a few days ago but then it got covered with the usual creative mess on my worktable and only resurfaced this morning when I attempted to tidy up!  Anyway, here it is and none the worse for wear fortunately :)

The digi is Frog Princess from the wonderful MayzyArt and fits right in to the current challenge over there at Mayzy Art blogspot which is romance.  The usual suspects were involved in the making of this - Copics, Silhouette Cameo, Tim Holtz tickets, ribbon and cardstock and stick on gems!  I would also like to enter this into the challenges at -

Thanks so much for popping in to take a look - see you soon :)

Black & White and read all over.

Hello all!
It's time for another challenge from the PINK team at Eclectic Ellapu and this week, it's my turn to pick the theme.  I love black and white photos and most art created with text so I decided that should be the challenge - to create something with black and white and to use text as well.  I know that those of you who love bright colours may think this isn't for them but I would encourage you to give it a go.  It's always fun to try something new and you can get so much variety from just using black and white - take a look at the fabulous creations from the DT if you don't believe me!!

For my card, I decided to use one of my own digis available from Can You Digi It - LilyPink Designs - a silhouette couple in a heart.  With the addition of a computer generated script background and some Cameo cutting of the main sentiment, I had a simple and easy card ideal for Valentine's Day, a wedding or anniversary or just plain 'because'.
