A blue christmas..................with a splash of orange!

Hello all!
I'm still working on Christmas cards and this is another CAS looking one - even though the making of the card itself wasn't particularly simple!  I used a digi Xmas elf from the wonderful Make it Crafty and kept the colour scheme to just blue and orange, so far so simple right?  Then I decided to do some heat embossing - not something I do very often but I wanted to add some snowflakes and didn't just want to stamp them in ink alone.  I used two different rubber stamps from my stash and embossed them with Stampendous Opaque white powder, then sponging a pale blue ink pad over the whole background.  To add further interest and texture, I embossed a snowflake garland, cut using my Cameo and this was where the embossing got very messy!  I don't need to go into details but you really shouldn't have a sneezing fit when using embossing powder, especially when you're doing it near your pc keyboatd!!

Moving on!  The card was then finished off with a Xmas sentiment which I inked in the same background colour - it shows up far better IRL, trust me!  So, one (not so) clean and simple Christmas card finished!

Old fashioned charm.

Hello all!
Back with a card that has a vintage feel to it today.  The challenge over at Teddy Bo is Anything Goes and I had a little tag that I had coloured up some time ago but hadn't done anything with.  It wasn't partcularly large so I had to bulk the card design out a bit using an additional 2 tags (the bottom one is actually a clothing tag that I cut off a purchase and kept - does anyone else do that?  Some of the labels and tags are so nice that I can't bring myself to throw them out!).
The background paper is from a Prima 6x6 Botanical pad that I have decided to use instead of keeping it locked away in my stash cupboard!  The other bits have come from my ever-increasing stash that really does need a good sort through - don't you feel terribly guilty when you come across things you don't even remember buying?

Still, enough waffle and on to the card -

Leaves are falling....

Hello all!
I can't ignore it anymore - there is a definite chill in the air which signifies that summer is coming to an end (deep sigh).  I know a lot of you love autumn or fall, depending on which side of the Atlantic you are but I just prefer the warmth of spring and summer.  I will admit to enjoying fall a lot more on the East Coast of the USA as it is a great deal crisper and fresher than the somewhat misty and wet months of an English autumn but I'm the owner of a body that craves the warmth of the sun!  Still, the seasons carry on doing their thing by changing and there's always log fires and hot chocolate to look forward to :)
All that rambling is really just a long-winded introduction to my autumnal card - I used the same set of Tim Holtz stamps as on the Snowmen card here . Some simple Copics colouring, twine and a button and a few strips of craft tape and the card is done!

Ride 'em cowgirl!

Hello all - back again with a quick post as today my Silhouette Cameo arrived and I need to play!!!!
Anyway I can restrain myself for 5 minutes to tell you that this card is for the Tiddly Inks challenge which is to use your favourite image from Tiddly Inks.  I don't have that many (yet...) but I do have a soft spot for this little cutie :)

Again, a fairly simple card design but I think it has a vintage feel to it with the sepia type colouring and the distressed edges.  I don't have a fancy distressing tool, I just use a pair of old scissors - works for me!

Dreamy lilac butterflies.....................

Getting back into the swing of things after a few weeks away from crafting and blogging, so I decided to get a card made for the current Dillybeans challenge.  This week it's fabric and fibres - I'm guessing that ribbon and lace count in that category :)

I used the digi 'Girl and butterflies' which is available from Megan's new blog here - don't forget that you have the chance to win some fab digis from Megan if you enter the Copics/Promarkers Friday challenges this month at The Outlawz as she has generously agreed to be our sponsor this month :)

This is one of my favourite images from Dillybeans - I just wish my hair was that flowing instead of being dead straight!

Bloom where you are planted.

Hello for the second time today - just sneaking in under the wire with my entry for the Saturated Canary  challenge which ends in just a couple of hours!!  Phew, only just made it!

I decided to print this digi in a light grey and aim for a watercolour/washed out kind of look with the colouring as well - nothing to do with the fact that a lot of my Copics are running low on ink and I need to get some refills!!!

I actually do like the end result as it's much softer than I would have imagined  - I tend to have a heavy hand with Copics and long to achieve that wonderful distressed look so many of you manage to do (effortlessly it seems to me!).
