Some NY attitude!

Hello all!
I'm back with a card for the current challenge over at Kenny K's Kraft Krew which is a Tic Tac Toe one.  I love these digis and it was actually this company that started me off on the whole digi stamp and copics road - they're to blame for the large hole in my bank account!

I digitally merged Brooklyn Babe with one of my own digis - New York from the set of City Smash stamps available from Can You Digi It.  For the Tic Tac Toe aspect I used the line that had 'digi - twine - sentiment- pearl'.  If you look really closely you can just make out the pearl as the lollipop she's holding (it may be small but it still counts, right?).

I'm still in my CAS mode as you can see so I kept the background very simple with just a strip of cardstock and dictionary paper, a grungy style rubber stamped mesh and the stamped sentiment.

     Thanks for stopping by :)

Christmas Joy!

Hello all!
I know it's still April but I'm taking advantage of the end of the month challenge over at The Outlawz where the Copics / Promarkers DT are having their Anything Goes with a Christmas twist challenge.  If you join in with the Christmas twist, at least you'll have a few cards ready to go by the festive season!
I used one of the very cute elves from Make it Crafty .  This one is called 'Zippy'  - there's also several others in the gang, all as cute as each other.  He was coloured with Copics and I chose to use non-traditional Christmas colours for a change.  The simple cardstock embellishment pieces were cut with my Cameo and then I dry embossed them to add some interest.

Keeping it CAS for this one :)

I would like to enter this into the challenges at - Addicted to Stamps, ABC Christmas, My Heart Pieces, Crimbo Crackers, Colour me creative and Celebrate the occasion.

Thanks so much for stopping by :)

You've got style baby!!

Hello all!
Friday has rolled around once more so another challenge over at The Outlawz alcohol markers group is up and running and this week the theme is "FASHION".  That leaves it pretty open to interpretation so why not join us this week?  - the Design Team have some truly fabulous examples for you to look at for inspiration.

I went to one of my Pinterest boards for my inspiration  - I had pinned this gorgeous card from Crafty Little Pigtails blog.  I just love the CAS fresh look of it - wonderful!

For my card I used a Kenny K digi, coloured with Copics and some scraps of paper, adding some lace and pearl brads so it would work for the current challenge at Kenny K's Krafty Krew. I even broke out the sewing machine for a very small amount of stitching!

I would also like to enter this into the challenges at - Addicted to Stamps , Simon Says Stamp , Stampin Royalty , Oozak and Through the Craftroom Door .

Thanks so much for stopping by and a big thank you to those of you who "liked" my hubby's Sturgess Designs Facebook page !

Valentine's Girl

Hello all!
It's bitterly cold here today so I'm very glad I didn't have to go outside but I must say, it seems very strange to have this cold without the snow.  The first two winters I lived here in New Jersey, the winters were pretty impressive with the cold and the many feet of snowfall but the last two years have been mild with hardly any snow.  I'm not complaining as I'm not a cold-lovin' gal but it sure doesn't feel like winter!

Anyway, February will soon be here which means Valentine's cards for all us card-makers - for this card I have used the fabulously glamourous Freya , the Valentine's Day girl from The Octopode Factory .  Don't you just love her heart-shaped glasses?
Obviously I had to colour her dress in red, using my Copics and I kept it all very CAS yet again!

I would like to enter this into the challenges at -

If you head over to The Octopode Factory , you can see all of the wonderful new digis from Lily, including some gorgeous Flapper Girls and some very cute LoveCats .  I can't wait to do something with these :)

Winter Wonderland

Hello all!
Friday has rolled around once again so that means another challenge for the Copics/Promarkers DT at The Outlawz and this week our theme is 'Winter Wonderland'.  I've been blog-stalking this blog for a little while now, pinning lots of her fabulous cards because I just love her style so I decided to make a similar card for this challenge.
The digi is from Crimson Cloud - I was lucky enough to win a challenge they sponsored and this was one of the images I picked.  After colouring the image with my Copics (obviously!), I added some white gel pen highlights and a simple stamped sentiment.  Pretty darn CAS, don't you think?

I would like to enter this into the challenges at Addicted to Stamps , Crafts and MeFab n FunkyPenny's Paper-craftyThe Perfect Sentiment .

You should head over to the Outlawz challenge to check out the rest of the DT's fabulous work!  Thanks for popping in  - hope your Friday is full of fun :)

Tag it for Christmas!

Hello all!
Hope you had a great weekend - only 3 more until Christmas :)
I managed to get most of my holiday cards done as I have to post so many of them across the Atlantic and like to make sure there's plenty of time for that journey.  I almost forgot about the extra postage for non-regular size cards - I like to make 6"x 6" cards but they cost half as much again to send so I decided to go for something a bit different.

I used my Cameo to merge 2 tag shapes at their tops to make a foldover tag card and then stamped and embossed a Christmas tree image with black embossing powder.  I then inked over the tree with a hot pink and stamped some background text - forgot to mention that I used a torn piece of paper to cover the bottom of the card to keep it white and look like a snow drift (hopefully!).  Finally I added a few gems to the tree and topped the card with some pink bias binding.

Nice and simple and will fit in a regular size envelope!  I would like to put this into the challenges at Visible Image , Addicted to stamps , Corrosive challenges , One stitch at a time and Quirky crafts .
