Guest spot at Addicted to Stamps and More

Hello all!
               I was recently asked to do a couple of cards as a Guest designer over at the blog -  Addicted to Stamps and More and was more than happy and very flattered to do so.  The challenges are currently being sponsored by StampArt Designs and you can check out all the lovely images here .
               With the theme for my first card being 'Anything Goes', I decided to break out a rubber stamp for a change and inked up 'Little Birdie Jane' by Jane Davenport which I had purchased from Stamping Bella. .   I stamped her directly on to the card base and then masked her with paper so I could then stamp some script over the whole image.  Removing the mask, I coloured her hair and skin with Copics and then stamped her once more onto some patterned paper, paper piecing her dress for added interest.  The sentiment is part of the Little Birdie set and seemed to fit in perfectly to a small gap in the script.

Hello all!
         Hope the heat has now cooled off where you are - phew, what a humid week that was here in New Jersey and in Pennsylvania, where we just spent a few days 'junktiquing'.  I managed to pick up a few treasures and we also got to go to a Drive In movie which was so much fun!  It was one of those typically American things that we, as Brits, just had to do.  We saw 'Despicable Me 2' - loved the first one and this was just as funny, especially all the Minions :)
      Anyway, back in NJ and I've been busy doing up some small pieces of furniture which means the card-making has taken a bit of a back seat.  I did manage to get a CAS card done with a lovely stamp from Jane Davenport, available from Stamping Bella.  I stamped the image onto my card base and again onto some old dictionary paper so I could paper piece her dress and just added some Copics colouring to finish her off.   Such a simple card but so effective - I love taking back views photos of people so this stamp was a must for me and is one of my current favourites!

Squeezing in a CAS one again!

Hello all!
Just wanted to squeeze a quick posting in for a card that came together nice and quickly :)  I used a 'real' stamp for this one from Stamping Bella - this one is 'Uptown Girls Pattie and Dottie Friends forever'.  I used my Copics to colour and kept the simple, yet bright colour scheme to a minimum by using the same colours to mat the image.  That's pretty much it!

       I would like to enter this in the challenges at 613 Avenue Create , Paper Playtime , Without Words , ABC challenge , Through the Craft Room door and Colour me Creative.

     I'm back with something a little bit different from cards today - my first page in my art book.  I've been so inspired by all the fantastic mixed media creations out there and wanted to join in.   I'm not going to call it a journal as all I'm doing in it is playing around with stamps, paints, inks, tapes, papers - anything I fancy trying.  There won't be any deep and meaningful journalling from me as this is purely for fun!  Whenever I feel the urge to create something just for the sake of it, I'll pull out this little book, (see here for details on the book itself) and just go with it.
                      For the very first page, I decided to ink up one of my new stamps from Stamping Bella - one of the adorable images from Diane Duda .  For the background I tore up some strips of paper from my huge stash of vintage dictionary pages and roughly painted some white gesso over them to adhere them to the page.  I used some Dylusions ink sprays, ( London Blue and Bubblegum Pink) and some more white gesso and then stamped my images and coloured with Faber Castell Pitt pens , using a white gel pen for the dots.  I added a couple of strips of washi tape just because I love the stuff and voila!!

   It was so enjoyable not to have to stress about getting everything perfect for a change!  Yes, there are wrinkles in the text paper and the ink smudged slightly on the sentiment stamp but so what?  I'm not giving this to anyone so it doesn't matter - it's just for me :)

Everyone needs a sidekick....

            Back with a non-Copic card this time -yes, I do make cards without the aid of Copics sometimes!  For this one I used a newly purchased stamp from Stamping Bella , one of the Uptown Girls range.  I embossed it onto some patterned vellum, using Stampendous embossing powder and then layered that onto some pale yellow cardstock, matting that onto the white card backround.
                   For just a touch of frou-frou, I added some white ribbon and lace and a couple of white flowers with a gem centre.  Simple and quick - just the way I like to make cards :)

                       The sentiment is a bit difficult to read - it says "Everyone needs a sidekick.  Who else is gonna kick you in the side now and then."
