Post early for Valentine's Day!

Hello all!
I took a short break from the CAS regime for my card today, although it's still not a 'fully loaded' creation compared to some out there.  It's not that I necessarily prefer CAS styles, just that I find it a whole lot easier.  to do.  Case in point - this card took me hours to do and I'm not even including the colouring time!
I merged the Saturated Canary digi, 'Hipster' with my own Love Conquers All digi and added the 'Be my Valentine' sentiment.  I had wanted to do a vintage feel Valentine's card so went with sepia and brown tones, using my Copics to do all the colouring.  Using Kraft paper I cut flowers and a tag shape with my Cameo and then stamped and heat embossed some script onto them, wrapped a chipboard heart with some twine and added aTim Holtz ticket and some pearls.

The current challenge at Saturated Canary is Movie Inspiration and my movie is "Valentine's Day" - doh!  No kidding huh?
I would also like to enter this into the challenges at 613 Avenue Create, Dream ValleyOne Stitch at a Time and Pile it on.

Thanks so much for stopping by - I truly appreciate your visits and comments.  A warm welcome to my newest blog friends/followers too :)

All you need is love....

Hello all!
It's been a while since I coloured up a Saturated Canary digi so I thought I would have a go at the latest SC challenge - 'inspired by a song'.  Have you seen the completely stunning DT examples over there? I keep on pinning them for inspiration!
Now maybe it's because Valentine's Day is fast approaching but the song that has been stuck in my head for a few days now is "Love Me Tender".  I've been an Elvis fan ever since I was a child - used to love watching all his films :)  With that in mind, I came up with this card -

The image is 'Honey' and was of course, coloured with Copics - the fancy card shape was cut using my Cameo (I contrasted the lilac with a plain Kraft inside) and I decorated it simply with some paper roses, adhesive pearls, a tiny bow and a Tim Holtz ticket.  I'm still keeping it simple even though this one does have a few decorative touches!
As well as the SC challenge , I would like to enter the challenges at avenue 613 , Dream Valley , Glitter n Sparkle , One Stitch at a Time .

Thanks for stopping by!

Farm fresh!

Hello all!  Yep, back again with another card - must be making up for lost time :)  This time it's a Kenny K digi for the latest challenge which is pennants, banners and bunting.  I had pinned a card some time ago that I loved for the simplicity and style and so I decided to go along those lines too - it's not completely CASE'd, I just went with the feel of it for inspiration.

I did say I was keeping things simple!  Just a kraft background and some cardstock bunting (Cameo print and cut again), the cute image, a strip of ribbon and 4 photo corners - very, very simple.

I would also like to enter this into the following challenges - http://corrosivechallengesbyjanet.blogspot.com/ - cheeky, saucy sassy

Bright and breezy!

Hello all :)  Hope everyone Stateside had a great Memorial Day - it was pretty hot here in NJ but I'm not complaining!
Just popping in with a card that I made earlier when I was having fun with Distress Stains and bleach.  The current challenge at Stampotique is to think BRIGHT so I decided to make my own background by splashing some Distress Stains onto some watercolour paper.  I then flicked some bleach over this and also stamped with bleach using a freebie stamp I picked up from CraftStamper magazine (a UK publication) -  I applied the bleach to the stamp using a paintbrush.  The stamped image is Shopping Shoes by Janet Klein and I coloured it with Copics before fussy cutting it and pasting it on to the backing paper - the sentiment is computer generated.

Thanks for popping in :)
